“Stillness”
There’s a stillness in the air this day –
Midsummer’s night has slipped away;
What’s left, as first fall leaf appears,
Is silence ’till the storms come near.They’ll come not in a rush, no doubt,
But in a tightening noose about
Peripherals then core – attend
As well as wanted – it can’t mend.For problem is systemic now –
We blew our ops – time won’t allow
Us to pull out of dive we’re in,
As family in country’s spin.It’s good to hear the media
Is hearing Trump’s strong la-de-da;
Of course it’s bigger than before –
Too late for Yanks – there’ll be a war.I had not seen that role for war
As we adjust mistakes before
We lose it all – (“There is no ‘God”
We like to think here on this sod).So we press on to prove our case;
Ignore the facts as human race,
And live as if tomorrow’s day
We can avoid in sandbox play.“So Stu, are you preparing now
For day that comes, which “still” allows?
Why publish books today to fix?
Tomorrow is in current mix.”Oh! Lord I now recall Your word
That fellow spoke, through which I heard –
“Day after that? Rebuilding time,
Disaster past – there speak my mind.”Thanks Lord for this.
