“On Black And White”

Those pictures shone –
I gazed upon
What I’d not seen
These years between –

The end of film –
Life in that realm,
Now gone at last,
For silver’s past.

But there it was!
Heart stirred, because
That black effect
I’d not seen – yet –

Some guy had made
What was portrayed
By early skill
On silver’s hill.

Out on my walk
A way I’d sought
To catch the view
With process new.

And there it was –
Big scan, because
By scan, not chip,
Loss-line he’d clipped

Not just what was
New way, because,
Each scan’s a slice;
Each photo’s nice.

Back in once more,
Just like before –
When detail’s seen
Once more, I’m keen.

Thanks Lord for this.
