“An Alternate To War” (Psalm 119:105)

Compassion folks – to hold at Bay
And circumscribe their turf, lest they
Wreak havoc for the rest of us –
As base of life without the fuss.

This Easter it’s now twenty years
Since “Gentle types” amidst a great fears
Like Lilliputians, little fish,
Piranha-like engaged in this.

“War fever”, book which speaks of this
I understood – they play at bliss
But once riled up they vicious are –
Rip up their friends – much worse by far –

Than folks you see come at you clear –
They skulk around when foe is near;
See ways to hit, as submarine
Shoot bottom from your ship, unseen

Beware – it’s innocence they claim;
But that’s not right, no way that name
Applies to them in such a fight –
It’s darkness – best turn on the lights.

Oh Holy God, Your way will be
Held up this week for all to see –
Self-giving love – Your Kingdom plan,
Of layer, and King, short step from damned.

“Unless you be a little child
You’ll not behold My Kingdom – wild
Will be your life of turbulence –
Step up to Kingdom-layer – take chance –

“To live your lives as I designed
For you – up here, you need not mind
The world and all its hassles, child;
No way I built it up so wild.”

Well, Lord, You are this cat’s meow –
I thank You Lord, for showing how
To live our lives here on this globe;
Light up our paths as guns are stowed.

Thanks Lord for this.
