“Count It All Joy” (James 1:2-11; Matt.18:1-6; 23:1-12; John Ch.9; 15:9-27; Is.42:18-25)
“I’ll teach you Spanish – you teach me English”;
Those were sweet words which he spoke unto me;
’Cept it was backwards – I don’t know Spanish;
Teaching you Spanish? How blest I would be!“But that’s all backwards; you don’t know Spanish;
I don’t know English, how foolish is that?”
You got my message, think of the laughter;
Teach what you’re learning; like curious cat.”When I learn something, I want to share it;
Nobody listens, they think they’re so smart;
Try teaching English to these smart people –
They’ll think you’re boring, and soon will depart.Mahatma Gandhi spoke with his neighbor –
“Go raise a Muslim like it was your own;
Though you are Hindu, you’ll get a blessing
Giving brings blessing, as sin you atone.”My wife’s a teacher, she learned each lesson;
Recalls the detail much better by far;
Students thought elsewhere (hot chicks and weekends);
Needed engagement – so simple, by Gar –Sex education for those young students –
“You teach me that and how blest you will be.”
First they must learn it, then they can teach it;
You teach me English, and then you will see.Brandon is crazy, it’s topsy-turvy;
You see their blindness – they don’t listen up;
So you disparage what you are seeing;
They watch your coming, and ways that are tough.Nobody listens; so all are dying;
Take this beginning to turn life around;
Jesus said child-like’s door to the Kingdom;
I’ll teach you Spanish, we’ll gain this new ground.Thanks Lord for this.
