“Enormity”

I said, “That’s where design comes from
(Stripes blue and white, both cross-ways run);
French Navy used it for their men,
In case into the sea they went.

The sea is blue, whitecaps are white;
Why blue-and-white to aid their sight?
The stripes are key – straight lines aren’t found
In nature – turns one’s luck around.

I stood there in my T-shirt striped;
She’d just clicked in, things were not right –
New parts from history she had;
She scanned to comprehend at tad.

She could not see there in the sea
An iceberg near Titanic (me);
If she could see reality,
She’d comprehend the stripes on me.

Then off to dinner with some ‘one’
(Who called the other, colleague’s son),
I will not mess in politics
Lived out in folks relationships –

So said, “I’ll have dessert and run”
(Skipped chowing down with colleague’s son);
We all wear stripes of blue and white
Here in mid-continent – and right –

We are, for we’re soon overboard,
Thrown, Jonah-like – confronting word;
We’re tiny barks in perfect storm;
“Wear stripes” I’ve heard – now we’ve been warned.

Thanks Lord for this.
