“Ingredients To Hear”  (Isaiah 43:19; 43:5-7; 54:11; 65:24; Jer. 31:18-22, 31-34; Ezek. 36:30; Amos 9:13-15; Luke 14:15-21; 15:22-24) [Reflections on book – Finally Comes The Poet by Walter Brueggemann, Intro and Chap.1A]

“It’s not your task, it’s Mine, My son;
Your take-off’s cleared; your flight’s begun;
You’ve lots to focus on today
Like Spanish; guitar – upgrade play;

“Like making money, plugging in
To world up on that layer – begin
To enter into life around;
Play game, “Where will resource be found?”

Lord, thanks for “Poem” book to read,
Affirming poetry as seed
For those who need Your Scripture’s word,
On-ramp, so it can now be heard.

I like his “Four things churches need
To weekly on a sermon feed –
A text; a body; context real;
And hope (of better living deal).”

First theme’s of “Guilt and Healing” – hmmmm –
God’s promises to us (to run
In contrast to the world’s bleak word),
Thus “Hearts restored” can now be heard;

Or “Cities healed”; and “Strangers home”;
“Inclusive banquets”; “Those who roam
New covenants and birthright given
In Eden-land, from which once driven”.

The world says, “It will never be!”
But folks in Scripture visions see;
Called “Prophets” (“Poets”, “Writers” now;
No mind – fresh visions, some with how).

So, cleared I am for take-off next,
Ignoring tasks not mine; and yet,
Assured I am that You will do
Through others, tasks not mine, renewed –

Within this context by Your word;
Hope of a better future heard;
There’s text; there’s body-life indeed,
In You, as Head – that we might feed –

Those hungry for Your word of life;
(You’ve other teams which heal the strife –
Like comedy routine – the best –
“Alleluia” left Clinton blessed).

Thanks Lord for this.
