“Nice Day On The Poop-Deck ”
“Nice day, today,”
On path I say;
Well, “No”, one said
(By which I’m fed) –“Was nice before,
But wind’s up more;
The temp’s down now,
So, tell me how –“You figure, ‘Nice’
Out here is right –
It’s not; it’s cold,
Like days on old –“Titanic decks –
Had chill, and yet
They pressed for speed –
Too bad, indeed –“For sometimes chill
Alerts our will
To cool it here
Until fog clears…”So yes, nice day –
Above the fray
Detached from cash,
Unlike the past.To wait is hard;
And yet, as bard,
I find there’s lots
’Bout which to talk.“Stu, go back now
And check out how
That Wisdom-lit
Enhances it –“You’ve read it all;
Each chapter’s small;
It could be good
If understood –“For Veblen’s days
Were lived those ways;
Pick up the threads
By which he’s led –“At least until
He’d had his fill,
And took the course
To car from horse.”Okay, O Lord,
I’ll check his words
Collected there –
Those pages tear.Thanks Lord for this.
