“Year Ten”

No wonder it wrecked up their plant back then,
These shifts in span disruptive are (again);
We’re all on curves with slopes which different are,
So when we shift, effect is quite bizarre.

First three to six months span, up to a year;
Then two, then five, then ten, two decades clear;
Not all at once, but shifts discreetly come –
Disruptive each, as we our life-spans run.

I saw this coming, now it’s shift is here;
Like up a floor, with window-view that’s clear;
An empty room; old warehouse; walk around –
Not much up here as yet, that’s to be found.

Except the loss – old friendships drop away;
New friends and colleagues come in future days;
Shift takes three years to settle out, which means,
Quite short the chunk of time to act, it seems.

It is Your system, Lord, help me relax,
And seize the day, and ways as stable facts
On which we can rely as we move on
Within upcoming decade, past span gone.

“Stu, sketch the curve and place yourself on line;
Then seize activities where you’ll do fine;
It’s all quite clear, another reason why
It’s body-life (or weak, then sick, then die).”

Lord, what is forming in my mind’s a tool
To factor in each aspect – that’s so cool;
3-D or four – however much it takes
To show the inter-weaving time-span makes.

Okay Lord, thanks for this.
