“Art”  [A-T Series #4]

They cannot take this form away,
Or tell me that I cannot say
What You place there, O Living Word,
That here, today, You not to be heard.

Ten thousand years there in that cave,
A hand of one – deep shadow saved
It ’till some person gazed on it,
And spoke of hand deep in that pit.

And yet today for all our noise,
We obsolesce-out all our toys;
Just hand outstretched and traced there now
Shows unity with him somehow.

Self-portrait – still-life of the best –
Just out of frame lies all the rest;
Yet outstretched begs that we each fill
The rest from what we’re being still.

Thanks Lord for this.
