“So, What If...?”   [Reflections The The Book Of Philippians (Phil. 4:1-9)]

So, what if we paid heed this time to Paul,
Who’s take on Paul he’s made quite clear for all?
We’d spend some time reflecting on the good,
Until our past and present’s understood.

Appreciate the true; things honor bring;
The right and pure; each lovely type of thing;
What we admire; what’s excellent indeed;
What’s worthy of our praise, in what we see.

Then things we learn and see in Paul to do,
Keep putting into practice, praising too;
Display in praise and thanks the gifts God’s given
Through Baptists here, like salt, and light, and leaven.

Four months, ’till Christmas, gather up the good –
The best of what has been, as understood
By those around today, and in the wings;
Then celebrate the feast which each one brings.

A “Potluck of the best of who we’ve been”;
Paul’s list we’ve read’s enough to make us keen
To celebrate long years of happy times,
Through memories, and stories we can find.

I’d love to see that project forward go –
Bring elements together, then we’d know
What’s best to put in practice, like Paul says,
Enriching present life with favorite ways.

Thanks Lord for this.
