“Three Major Themes Collide”

1 - It’s pay-out time – it’s ROI they seek
On all these bubble-funds, although I see
It’s different from the dot-com end of a fun –
There, no one saw how far the clock had run.

There comes a time to bail on “endless growth”
Like Microsoft – the boss I see awoke
To bail-out time, as techno melted down –
“Time to retire – move on to nobler ground”.

2 - Best way to date? “Subscription”, take a bit
From many folks each month; because of it,
Investors stay, but clients walk away;
So, “Dog eat dog” at last gets underway.

3 - Then, techno-change – that world of endless shift,
Where speed is up and cost drops quite a bit;
Folks buy the myth, step off the Tera-firm;
When themes collide, the truth those folks will learn.

“We’ve been deceived” (Ellul said we prefer
To walk that road, so warnings don’t deter
Our headlong chase for rain’s elusive bow,
And pots of gold, at and – “Tell me it’s so!”).

So how to act in face of looming crash?
“Stand back and look, in face of it, now ask,
‘Where will the table sit at end of shot?’
Let that inform the option-set you’ve got.”

Thanks Lord for this.
