“Support”  [Reflections On Sun Tsu's  “Art Of War”  Chapter7 #6) (John 15:1-17)

It’s fifteen years ago today,
Al Qaeda hit – three buildings swayed
And toppled as these airplanes hit;
Attackers died because of it.

They were a raid – no back-up plan;
Sun Tzu says hit, if hit you can,
But know the stats before you go –
Survival rate you then will know.

At fifty miles the leader dies
With half the men – without supplies
Equipment, food, matériel,
How will you such depletions fill?

At thirty miles one third will die,
So maybe stop and ponder why
Such sacrifice is core to you;
Perhaps you’ll get a different view.

Al Qaeda wanted hit – big splash;
They had the men, no questions asked
To hit three towers, one Pentagon;
One crashed from folks on board – “We’re gone –

“So might as well take these guys on”;
They did – they crashed, moved life along
For others in their land that day –
A life for life those people paid.

The leaders of that raid were lost,
And all the team – accepted cost;
Beyond the fifty miles they went,
Which shows the cost when further sent.

“Apart from Me you’ll nothing do”
Christ said one time – “I’m telling you,
Like branch on vine, you need supply,
For on your own you’ll soonest die.

Thanks Lord for this.
