“Images From Nature”  [Reflections On Sun Tsu's  Art Of War  (Chapter7 #9) (James 1:6;Matt.20:22; Ps.1:3; Matt.3:10; 12:33; Is.30:27; Matt.3:11; Heb.12:29; Matt:17:20; I Cor.13:2)

Wind, and forest, fire, and stone
Of a mountain – such is home;
When it’s “tactics” we fulfill
Images from nature will –

Give us pictured-way to act;
Thought contained in imaged fact,
Is more potent than just words –
Pictures shape what has been heard.

Wind speaks of the rapidity;
Movement traceless – fleetingly;
Present, then it’s gone – who knows
Whence it came; or where it goes?

Forests stand majestically;
Movement slow and orderly;
Standing in its compact form;
Steady is the forest’s norm.

Fire, ferocious, searing heat
Of attack on enemy;
Raids rapacious, plunder on –
Wild attack, then it is gone.

Mountains stand unmoved, and firm;
Good defense the troops have learned;
Waiting out quite patiently
Actions of the enemy.

Wind and forest, fire and stone
Speak to me of Kingdom-home –
Spirit moves like a wind unseen,
Shifts us on from where we’ve been.

Forest tree – refuge for birds;
Food for all; good fruit; what’s heard
As we stay attached in Him
Drawn from the stream, new growth within.

Fire – the blaze of ending day;
Burning dross of sin away;
Spirit’s fire upon, within;
Brand from burning snatched to win.

Mountains made of solid stone –
Zion, our eternal home;
Cast into the sea by faith;
Never moving as we wait.

Images invite us in
To engage with thought – begin
To grow up as entities,
Letting us new vistas see.

Thanks Lord for this.
