“Diversion”  [Reflections On Sun Tsu's  Art Of War  Chapter 7 #3] 1Cor.1:18-2:16)

“In this way”, and “thusly”, said
Sun Tzu in chapter seven – I read
With fascination ’bout his tricks,
As sure demise of foes he fixed.

Verse three’s an instance of verse two –
In making roads “advantage” you,
“Manipulate” is route you choose,
And “obfuscate” is way you lose –

Him so you come to battlefield
As first arrival – he then yields
Advantage to your rested stance,
And preps you’ve made there in advance.

First, lure him with advantages –
With bait; some profit can be his –
He’ll sucker down some winding road,
Circuitous – malarkey told –

To him by those who carry tales
Of riches there; he’ll be regaled
By fantasy ’till empty trough
Is clear to him – it’s come to naught.

When he is gone, then slip away;
He’ll speed along to seize the day,
When all the while you’re in behind,
Or on a route, sometimes that winds –

Its own way to the battlefield –
Still faster than his route – yours yields
The destination both have sought,
But he’s a load of nonsense bought.

If you can do this sort of thing,
To trick your foe, so tactics bring
Advantage to your side, you’ll be
A skillful leader, worry free.

God does this sort of thing, I read
In letters Paul wrote, where he said,
“God’s wisdom is beyond our scope –
It’s time we each to that awoke.

Like “wounded robin” from her nest
Diverts attention, Christ has blessed
Us with our freedom – took the hit –
We’re free to copy Him, like this.

So tune into our General
In ways He wants to Good News tell
To you each day, as you, in prayer,
Seek best way to move on from there.

Thanks Lord for this.
