“Tomorrow in Today”

Tomorrow, future, what will be for me,
Is one of nine small boxes – helps me see
Myself, my kin, and my community;
Past, present, and what future yet shall be.

All items float around from box to box,
But spread out thus, it quiets inter-talk,
And gives me things to think and pray about,
Then take in hand and do, ignoring doubt.

Two sets each week, three days per set, I see
Past present future twice to focus me;
While through the day my morning’s ’bout myself,
While aft is kin; and eve world’s need for wealth.

Lord thanks for this; it quiets down my cares
As I do life, each section now prepares
A list of tasks with flavor of the day,
Which sets me free to live my life, today.

For past and present have their focus bright,
While future, present is when it’s done right –
Seed planted now – tomorrow’s Apple tree
For self and kin and our community.

First try at list for self and future mix
Has “Barrel fill”, so I can live from it –
As thought matures – nine, fifteen, twenty-four –
It’s not as green; ideas yield much more.

“Reflect on Scripture” jot each insight down;
Throughout my life I’ve grown as cycles ’round
Retrace with depth (or height) thought I once knew;
Jacques’ levels rise, extending scenic view.

More formal growth through courses are a part
Of life for me – computer got its start
For me three decades past – a treasure trove;
But they move on, which says I need to grow.

Then there’s the lake (backyard mock-up a bit)
Fills barrel mine, my soul won’t take a fit
If I fill up whole self, there finding peace;
Thus future days from present find release.

Okay Lord, thanks for this.
