“Three Shades Of Up”
Three shades of “up” I’m seeing, coincide –
There’s “up” as in volcano – that’s a ride!
There’s “up” as Jacques describes his “broader view”;
And “up” on Kingdom-layer, here with You.The first is like the top of pyramid –
Broad at its base, at top there is a lid
To keep at bay the steaming mass below,
Where meadow makes a place where flowers grow.To get up to that place is rugged road,
Which bends and twists as you toil under load;
Then suddenly that viewpoint is right there;
Your journey upwards has for this prepared.For it’s no holiday, there is a task
Delivered at the post-box – you just ask
For it and it is yours to take on home –
Unpack, assemble, skills with new tool hone.The part I like is three types are above –
The Jacques and Kingdom-layer, tools for love
But Meadowland of scene at end of trail
Is up above, not outward – in the mail –It came – the trail goes downward ten years hence,
And that is fine – last twenty there with fence
Around its scope and scale is fine with me,
Though taller mountains in the range I see.Lord, that’s enough to do Your task through me;
Your purposes do where I’ve come to be;
Thanks for all this, so bless us all ahead;
With pleasant route all-told through which we’re fed.Thanks Lord for this.
