“Unduly” [Reflections On Book  The Canadian Economy Series  B-7 – Regulatory Task]

The Yanks do “hustle” we don’t do –
You enter – smile, “What do for you?”
“Can do” the attitude you see;
“Compete” it is in land of free.

Up here we merge and can combine,
Take over world and that’s just fine;
We live in shadow of down there,
So need not worry, need not care.

It’s actions of monopoly
We monitor – so if we see
“Unduly” out of line, we flag
Then on our social networks tag.

It’s only in our “Goods” we care
But now they’re made offshore – that’s where
The regulations are more lax;
Lets us seem nice, drop import tax.

Why not? We’ve nothing to protect;
“Mc-jobs” are service-focused, yet,
If smart we be, combine at will;
Compliance is our watchword still.

So let supply, demand, and price,
Move freely – overseas is nice;
Now agriculture will shut down,
Give bison back our frozen ground.

“Third generation” is our rule –
“From broke too broke” – just watch, they’re fools;
Combine? Just let them, they will crash
When Junior gets granddaddy’s cash.

How does that work? “Monopoly” –
Those “Native clams” of joke you see
“Move from the pail piled o’er the rim,
The other clams pull you back in”.

So if you deviate from herd,
Your sons and daughters heed your words
Of warning, but that’s where it ends –
“Monopoly” to trash descends.

“Why try?” The watchword of the day;
“It’s comfort we desire as way
To do our lives – play nice and be
Accepting in the world you see.”

So, Lord, it’s hard to make one’s way
When cash abounds, resource holds sway;
Folks just don’t see reality –
They’re Lairds and crofters still – not free.

Thanks Lord for this.
