“Staggeringly Immense”
Lord, news arrived – they found that we boy’s body;
Search comes to end; the tears flow; hearts now break;
I can’t begin to comprehend the anguish;
“Abide with me”, their plea; new roads each take.Immensity of loss we cannot fathom;
Though closer watch will last now for a spell,
Then other kids will follow in those footsteps;
More parents grieve such unexpected hell.Lord, we came close – so fast such death can happen –
Each day a gift from You we take and use
’Till suddenly all ends in sad departure –
We stagger on – it seems our minds we’ll lose.Lord, grace these folks through Spirit and through neighbors;
And may each come to know Thy Kingdom-layer;
There find their peace, relief from hearts now breaking,
And stagger on held by Your gift of prayer.Thanks Lord for this.
