"The Silence"

It seems that silence has a shape not just duration’s spell;
It’s shape, like hole that’s black in space, can be the shape of hell;
Or sometimes heaven, much like a pending birth still unannounced
That’s writ upon a mother’s face, and actions quite pronounced.

“Pronounced” – I’d never seen that word – to speak, allow, or clear –
But also like a stand-in word, a “pronoun” for what’s near;
Dear Lord, I thank You for the space which carries meaning’s load;
Please open us to others’ pain and joy we thus behold.

Thanks Lord for this.
