“Mantle Of Joy” (John 15:11; Isaiah chapter 61) [Reflections On Book Powerlines by Leona Frances Choy - Chapter 19 - #3/25]

It’s not we all are happy types
Who in this world can take delight;
It’s more there are these blocks to joy
For all of us as we deploy –

To mission-work at Christ’s command;
The task we come to understand,
But blockages come thick and fast
’Till we exhausted are at last.

So how could we so joyful be,
For blocks are blockages of “me”?
“Don’t be yourself”, “Be someone else –
Like me – for I’m so good myself”.

Yeah, right – Chuck personality
That I might fit externally
Into a world that does not fit –
First-joy is gone because of it.

Good news of Kingdom-layer place
Where we can be, in any case
Which comes our way, to grow, and do
The life held out for us by You.

A Kingdom-layer life where lots
Is possible – above the blocks
Thrown up by those who ’round us live,
That we might Kingdom-joy now give.

For joy is more suppressed by life
On earth from blockages and strife;
Take those away, or us from them,
And joy is back – released with gain.

This lady, Hannah Smith, we’re told
Was joyful type as young and old;
Most do not have that joyful tone;
Deep joy (our way), can bless each home.

For me that comes on Kingdom-layer,
That blessed answer to my prayer;
To see myself above the blocks
Allows for joy to burst out lots –

Of ways – like in photography –
To spot the joyful playfully,
And share such joy as “Happy Guy”
These days we live beneath the sky.

My challenge from this joyful chick?
“What joy comes through each shutter’s click?
Does it display a life released
From blockages? Resulting peace?”

Lord, that’s a challenge to my life –
Frustration’s high; things don’t go right;
But in this word I hear a note
Of Joy abundant – “wear the coat”.

Thanks Lord for this.
