"Two Curves"  [Reflections on Business And Legal Forms For Authors And Self Publishers by Ted Crawford form #23-25B]

Two curves exist upon one frame;
Folks think of one, don’t play the game
Within the range of mental thought
The other has (they think it’s rot).

And that’s beside the point of power –
When equal, deal’s made in the hour;
When skewed, it never works – for one
Takes chips away to have some fun.

One cure on matrix equal lies,
Twixt horizon and clear blue skies –
Diagonal twixt X and Y –
One dollar in, one back – here’s why –

“I paid you once, and I want work”;
(“I worked one hour, now pay me, jerk!”)
Is mostly how we income gain –
Accounts kept short; no loss; low pain.

But growth has curve all of its own
Like hockey-stick; it finds its home
Long months on X then sudden Y –
Growth curve goes up where eagles fly.

To play the long-game – all I do –
It’s geometric – longer view
Than “Tit-for-Tat”, “bird in the hand
Is better now” – “I understand”.

So how can one play fair that way?
With “people” I seed-harvest play;
Results are slow, but solid stand
In storms of life – I under-stand.

So giver-ways with long-view curves
Come into play – “You’ve got your nerve”;
“He’s just a future train-wreck’s scene”;
Think what you like, for there I’ve been.

Lord, how does Kingdom-layer play
Out in this game of give-a-way?
How do I work for life around
So Kingdom-life for all abounds?

“Stu, that’s what this is all about –
Don’t sweat the small stuff – have no doubt
That life in Me, on Kingdom-layer
Is meant for all – My house of prayer.

“Let others mess around with cash;
Let others try to build their stash;
It’s nothing – money comes and goes –
Build folks for heaven – for Goodness knows –

“There’s need out there – there’s so much pain;
No need for that, but heaven’s gain
Comes from the ash-heap (Phoenix-rise),
Folks’ second chance in Gospel lies.”

Lord, thanks for this – so quick I lose
My place in You, with long-term view;
“Stu, Scripture-focus, that’s the way
I have for you, you’ll be okay.”

Okay Lord, thanks for this.
