"Too Hot For Covers" [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - # 50]

When graphic art goes up in heat
As cover-art, where public greets
The magazine, or poster piece,
Down-shift it gets – inside release.

Like ladies kissing – New York scene
Of soldier nurse, where those had been;
Statue of liberty now held
Blind justice – gay-rights anguish tells.

For poses, body language, are
The stuff of cultures near and far;
So when you choose a gesture, pose,
Think alternate – so power goes –

To stratospheric heights with ease
Old images, where concepts freeze
And keep us locked in bins of past,
Find open doors of life at last.

Thanks Lord for this.
