"Uncle " [Reflections on Book - Right Side Up Side Down Connie Bischoff and Romeo Lemieux - re: ]
I had an uncle, now deceased,
Who met his wife like that;
Train lurched, he spun across the car,
And landed in her lap.Now lots of folks lose balance thus,
Though they don’t settle down
To married-life with all mishaps
En route to work in town.My view of why God set things up
For married life in-deed,
Is so we’d have full set of parts,
As age removes each piece.These folks got head-start on that way,
But we will catch up soon;
First half of life we gather in;
Last half we must make room –We downsize, no more supersize,
We’re lame, the halt, the blind;
But we’ve great memories of trains,
Street corners, friends so kind.So Lord, as we press on from here,
And play into the wings,
Grant us the grace to gracious be,
’Till our fat lady sings.Thanks Lord for this.
