"The Missing And Murdered " [Reflections on Book - Right Side Up Side Down Connie Bischoff and Romeo Lemieux - re: Conventions ]

The problem’s not “conventions” for
I’ve seen them all, and I abhor
Conventions which say “Pretty Brown,
You’re trash – so we don’t want you ’round”.

It’s economic at its base,
Though on the surface looks like race –
The racial part is just the flag
To view her as a pile of slag.

But races mix as years go by;
One whitey said, “I wonder why
They don’t stay black and white so we
Can racial targets clearly see.”

Yeah, lady, that’s what uniforms
Are for when armies kick up storms –
“Shoot anything in blue, or gray,
Or red, or white – in costume stay.”

“For if you switch, it’s outright death;
If caught, you’ll take your final breath,
Because the point is, kill them first
Or they’ll kill you, and that’s much worse.”

This picture? That’s the way they died
A few – for its more like a tide –
Tsunami of such racial hate –
Economy for them can’t wait.

Thanks Lord for this.
