"The Mall" [Reflections on Book Capitalism Is Fallen, Elwin Kettner - Chap. 9b]

The dance goes on twixt giver types; perceivers have their hand;
Compassion-people? On the outs, for they must understand,
“The world’s for big boys, you must take your place on bottom rung,”
As Ringer noted in his book, that’s how the song is sung.”

So Kettner says, “Incentivize”; “Let market forces play”;
“Manipulate the interest rates then price won’t have its say”;
“And that is bad, for signals help folks know which end is up –
Without those signals, play is done, and people say, ‘Enough!’”

“Enough of obfuscation, friend; enough of bafflegab;
Enough of stringing me a line; don’t treat me like a lad,
I’m not – just like that pre-teen said, “Don’t speak of me as ‘kid’,
I’m growing up; transition time; of teddy bears I’m rid.”

Lord thanks for truth that sets us free, for Kingdom-layer and kite;
Thanks for that plastic layer, ice, that lets us walk upright;
Thanks for discernment Spirit brings which cuts through bafflegab;
Thanks for the hope which we now feel and joy where we are sad.

Faith, hope, and love, those three abide, the greatest being love;
For that is where the action is – assistance from above,
As shown through actions of us folks – Your body here on earth,
Through which folks get their second chance, their call to second birth.

For when Your gift of heavenly love pours out through actions bold,
Life pulls out from its dive to earth, folks once again take hold;
Then folks in life who sense the hope come drifting into view;
A miracle – still nothing yet that others see as new.

But they provide assistance to the lovers in the pit;
They bring resource to aid the task; they sense some benefit;
If handled right the scene will shift from hope to view of faith,
When those who see in life that way will enter through the gate.

So with the help they bring to love, and hope, they turbo-boost
The subject of this escapade to press on in his route;
Without them seeing just beneath the surface something there,
They would not give resource they bring expressing what they dare.

But when they see, they act, and then we all move down the road;
It’s fragile still, but soon will be a person under load,
Where folks then see as plain as day good life, abundant crop –
Though have no clue how it got there, nor see, “What God hath wrought”.

Lord as this project soon wraps up, I pray that others too
Might also sense Your gift of love is there for all from You;
And that those folks who freedom find, as well, those looking on,
Might join in Your redeeming task – in love, to need respond.

Thanks Lord for this.
