"Freedom" [Reflections on Book Capitalism Is Fallen, Elwin Kettner - Chap. 9c]

Yes, interest rates may be the price that sets the level first,
Except the unseen giver’s hand behind me seems much worse;
Just check out Veblen in his book on Business Enterprise,
Then mix that in with “Masters” film, and “Big Short’s” gross surprise.

It’s like “the big lie”, shielding truth that business game is fixed,
So suckers play another round, so they too can get blixed;
For Fed is private, and the savings put in play to make
A killing through tight money’s swings, come through – they’re on the take.

So all the rest is up and up; the twist is at the first,
So people think the playing-field is level – they would burst
If they found out what’s going on for real behind the sham;
But that won’t happen, soon at least, the game is of “The Man”.

No wonder folks get cynical – the shell game is a scam
(For real, that is), and they are miffed at being told “You can”,
When that’s not true except for some who “Win the lottery” –
Which keeps folks buying chips of hope, so someday rich they’ll be.

Lord, it’s a mess, but You know that, and no doubt more that is;
You see in detail in behind the choices made in biz;
Life works, I know, but sometimes I get bothered by this scene –
And then You say, “On Kingdom-layer you’re safer than you’ve been.

“So stay up there, safe from the slings-and-arrows business guff;
You need not change them – they will act when they have had enough
That’s landed on their heads down there, so get on with your life;
Until My Kingdom comes to earth – up here you’re freed from strife.

Thanks Lord for this.
