What Seeist Thou?

I see a heart is that’s growing up;
Post-secondary life is rough –
It’s meant to be – it works that way,
So we move on from life today.

We all feel timid deep inside;
Our gentle aspects sometimes hide
So people don’t apply their boots
To who we are with fragile roots.

So what is shy? – Define it, please;
For shy’s a word that’s close to me;
“It’s fear my feelings, deep and true,
Are not acceptable to you.”

Well, I can rock and roll with that!
If on my feelings you ker-splat,
It says a lot about your life
As you decide if I’m alright.

That task of being God each day
Must be a tricky role to play;
Seven billion in your world to fix,
And each with culture in their mix!

I’m glad it’s you, I’ve not the time –
I’m hardly able to see mine
Sufficient well to clear away
My past, now fallen to decay.

Or are you just a demigod?
Two hundred in your keeping – odd
That seems to me – two hundred names
I can’t keep straight, thanks just the same.

And actually I have two kids
And wife – my life here in their midst
Is not a life of thought control –
More, helping out as they grow old.

They’re not “my” people, God’s they are;
He’s got resources – takes them far
Beyond what I could hope or dream,
And glory brings from what has been.

Thanks Lord for this.
