"To Really See Again"  [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - # 38]

To really see again I’d learned long since,
Just look at objects in a way not tense
With anxious drive to always be at work –
Relax – in this I think you do not shirk –

Your role as artist – really look and see;
Distraction gone, let boredom rise to be
A tool for playful insight to design;
Then be amazed, delighted at your find.

I’ve known that – now a use comes into play –
Augmented text makes use of things that way –
Like letters seen in objects of our world,
Dropped into titles, drop caps, subtle swirls.

So, share your little serendipity
In subtle ways, to help the folks to see
Into their world “Design”, not just to us
A way to ease our lives, reduce the fuss.

Thanks Lord for this.
