"Red-Black" [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #31 ]
“What’s black and white and red all over?”
With news and sports and piece on Rover;
That Nazis, Commies (Stalin’s henchmen)
Applied a bit as was their penchant.But now all that’s behind – a story
Two colors now restored to glory;
They contrast, more when shapes are clashing;
A mix perhaps that’s everlasting.Is it the flame of campfires burning;
The black and white of early learning,
With teacher’s marks in red – transgressions
For errors in our childhood lessons?For deep within our modern feeling,
These colors stir, soon we are reeling;
They reach us in our saner moments,
Reminding us of former torments.Thanks Lord for this.
