"The Concierge" [Reflections on Book - Right Side Up Side Down Connie Bischoff and Romeo Lemieux Part 2 - re:Mask ]
They say that great hypocrisy
Attends the church, in which we see
Such blatant contrast, acts to words,
That Christian message can’t be heard.And yes, that goes for feelings too –
Both Scots and French have points of view
Which hold, and share, in different ways
Affective life throughout their days.Consider hotel industry –
“Yes ma’am”; “No sir” – in which we see
Preeminence of customers
To whom true feelings we defer.A game that’s played; a mask that’s worn;
We fool no-one – today not born –
But can we at the end of play
Take off our masks and be – today?Thanks Lord for this.
