"Of Time And Time" [Reflections on Book - Right Side Up Side Down Romeo Lemieux and Connie Bischoff re: Relics]

I saw a building in the field,
Two eyes and nose, my picture sealed
On silver base that slice of time;
For now it’s gone – though in my mind.

A pilot friend up north once quipped,
“Church of the open door” – wind whipped
It on a point of land, on rez;
“That’s what that scene to me now says”.

Such buildings shelter fragile life –
A man gives gift of seed to wife,
Then waits like Christmas – gifts below
The tree – now given – soon will show –

His love, still wrapped awaiting joy,
Within the world for girl or boy;
We need not act once gift is placed
Beneath the tree – yet life’s still graced.

Thanks Lord for this.
