"One Short Step" [Reflections on Book, Capitalism Is  Fallen, Elwin Kettner - Chapter 1a]

From Marx to Stalin, one short step –
The people’s plight was key, and yet,
Ukraine they starved for export cash;
That’s just the point – our present-past.

For mankind will shift system’s goals
To selfish ends, which takes its toll;
That “Unseen hand” is overblown,
For greed in man is quite well known.

When greed’s allowed to drive the van,
The public’s doomed, for private can
Twist any system to its end,
To any purpose virtue bend.

For Adam Smith lived in an age
When church and morals were on stage
As values shown as top of list,
While hypocrites the public blixed.

We’ve dropped pretense, law’s just behind –
Abortion, “Suicide” align
For gain – take two percent, inflate
To slow the banks whose greed can’t wait.

No jobs, O Lord, it’s quite the mess;
We outsource jobs, so costs are less –
Like POD from Printing Source,
Or overseas – a tour de force.

So people? Yes (trade-off is cash);
Take money? People then you smash,
For people here on Turtle Isle
Are biggest cost for us mean-while.

Thanks Lord for this.
