"Phantom Holler"

Even though they’d gone, I heard tonight
His phantom holler – brought delight
Into my heart – it’s four a.m.
And time for bottle-change again.

How precious were those Christmas days;
His grin as we his interest raised –
“Where’s happy-kid?” In mirrored glass,
And “Wappo” joking with each task.

What joy new babies bring to scene
Where countless other kids have been,
For Christmas lights, with gift-wraps, tree,
Are quite enriched by him, we see.

Lord, thanks for Nico, Patty, Jame;
For “Jolly Old St. Nico’s” name;
For all the joys of Christmas time –
Food preps, and gifts – and folks sublime.

Thanks Lord for this.
