"Subliminal" [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - # 16]

Sublime at best, clichéd at worst,
Log-cabin letters quench the thirst
Of those who see as metaphor
Those precious letters used before.

So meanings, subtle to the eye,
Are caught, sometimes we don’t know why,
But caught they are, subtext they lie
With major meaning – caught with eye.

It’s semiotic at its best;
It points a way much deeper yet;
Can cliché-out without due care;
Amazingly, deep meaning’s there.

Thanks Lord for this.
