"Pixilation" [Reflections On Book - 100 Ideas That Changed Graphic Design Stephen Heller and Veronique Vienne - #18 ]
Words appear as artifacts on signs within a pix,
Or spread across a pictograph, as words and letters mix
With pixilated color – like a text if color blind;
So maps, and charts, and graphic fonts are part of big design.When I first put a photo-loop on fonts, I was amazed
At the detailed subtle meanings – left my mind a wee bit dazed;
For words in type, calligraphy, hand-written, or laid out,
Bring depths of meaning I’d not seen – which opened up a route –To augment text – positions on a page I could design,
Give meanings I before had thought impossible to find;
But now I see word-layout, from the dot to larger frame,
All shape and color messages – Augmented Text’s its name.Thanks Lord for this.
