"Over My Lifetime "  [Reflections on Book The End Of College ch4]

In time it’s taken us to go
From planet Earth to Mars, and though
Some probes now spin into the void,
Some learners have become annoyed –

By institution twisted ’round
Agendas presidents have found
To be of use, as symboled power,
Enhancing strut each passing hour.

But science of the way we learn
Has overtaken those who earn
Their salaries old-fashioned ways,
Which ushers in new learning days.

Not new as such, more finding how
To better learn – what we know now,
Admixed with new, cemented in
To narrow paths – new heights to win.

Not just for schools and colleges,
But all of life – for knowledge is
A part of life (some think as base)
But part it is in any case.

One thought it’s like a scaffolding
To build beside – and henceforth bring
Another scaffold to that height
To stand upon – left-right; left-right.

Some thought of storied patterns – yarns;
Some saw how dopamine can harm
Or help us on our daily paths
In learning-scene, new questions asked.

And now? As tech-world meshes in
With the ways we learn, can we begin
To take a fresh approach and see
Effects of new technology?

So Lord, as we progress this way
Enable us in Kingdom’s way
To stand upon our kite or layer,
And learn of learning – that’s our prayer.

Thanks Lord for this.
