"McEd "  [Reflections on Book The End Of College ch 6a]

As I peruse the hyper-text
(Where hyper hypes itself as best)
It’s Michael Gerber comes to mind
Approach for each is of a kind.

McChurch; McEd; McThis; McThat;
It’s all the same – efficient crap
On how to win the numbers game –
“Reduce each task till all’s the same”.

Don’t get me wrong, for Michael’s way
Of doing business in this day
And age has hit the proverb’s nail
For Silicon needs Gerber still.

Had I had Gerber at my first
I’d not have lost so much – for worst
Way to proceed is “Mom-and-Pop”
To which friend Michael put a stop.

I scan his hype-er text and see
It’s education, for a fee
Much less – just take a bite from each
And you can win – that’s what they teach.

But as I hear “you’ve all think” hype
With pseudo-science as the pipe
Which carries sludge such folks can’t see
The broader broke economy.

For work is needed by us all
“Effectiveness”, the writer’s call
“Efficiency” – cut costs then bring
Folks to the end – a wondrous thing.

Then what? The welfare-nation fix?
More like two outlooks in their ditch –
But somehow this quite shallow stays
“So long as my endeavor pays”.

Thanks Lord for this.
