"A Cut Above"

“A cut above that town they were,”
I’d heard, but this was point deferred
In comprehension – for the town
Was wrongly heard with twisted sound.

For cut above town one meant “saint,”
While cut above the other ain’t
That much to write back home about;
“St. John”? – and I’m concerned, no doubt.

For if St. John said issues we
Have with your work – that worries me;
But cut above those other folks?
Get real – the town’s the butt of jokes.

So – where was I in process ours?
Let’s see – engaging current powers,
That kite and string engage each wind,
On which fresh hopes can now be pinned.

Thanks Lord for this.
