"Higher Ground" [Sun Tsu Chapter 6 Summary] (I Cor. 15:24-28; I John 2:3-6; John 15; 1 Sam 17)
To keep the higher ground at war
Helps victory you’re looking for
When lower, turn the tables ’round
So you’re on top, on Holy ground.Sure numbers are irrelevant,
Says monkey ’bout the elephant,
If you will formless be always,
They must spread out, as Sun Tzu says.Let them form first, or egg them on,
Where they’re too strong just move along;
Like water flowing down a hill,
Go ’round a foe who’s standing still.Hit hard at weakness, hide your strength;
Let battle come to you at length;
Match strength to weakness, cat with mouse,
And thus defend your family’s house.If you, in Christ, now Spirit-walk,
You’ll be okay, in Him now talk;
When he says, “Best get out of here,”
Obey – that field of battle clear.Lord, as I ponder and reflect
On Sun Tzu’s comments, I reject
Some aspects, though Your principles
He twists somewhat re: obstacles.For Your assumptions have a goal –
“Thy Kingdom come; mankind made whole”
And when Your foes beneath Your feet
Are crushed, Your Kingdom-life is sweet.Thanks Lord for this.
