"Von Clausowitz" [Viet Nam Series" #6/6] (I Cor.15:24-28)]

Von Clausewitz a writer was,
On ways of war, he wrote because
He thought about Napoleon,
How he won wars throughout his reign.

Quite boring, he, to me that is,
Pedantic – brought me to my knees;
To get to sleep at night sometimes,
I’d read his book for sleep sublime.

Analysis of Vietnam
Was based on him – some ways this man
Drew out some facets of such wars
As we take on – “What preps are for”.

And “Preps and fighting take two minds –
Just not the same – two roles entwine;
Put one in charge of pressing forth,
And you’ll “Go south” when heading north.

Forward and back he drew from him,
Throughout each part to battles win;
But maybe that’s good in its place;
For me, too much, on me a waste.

At least I found the range of thought
Which helped me out, how war is taught;
Not ’cause I fight – more business ways
I understand – how business pays.

The principles are good, as such;
When out of place, there way too much;
But lots do biz like war is done,
And view success as battles won.

For me, I understand Christ’s ways –
As Son of God, as Bible says,
Our part in ops; and tactics’ ways
On Kingdom-layer throughout our days.

Thanks Lord for this.
