"Orthodoxy " [Sun Tsu #6-7] (Matt.4:18-20; 9:37-10:5a; Luke 10:1-2)]

Once I’ve absorbed what proverbs teach,
Sophisticated in my reach,
I learn to stay aloof as well,
So ways and means no man can tell.

That very fact, no more besides,
Is where success for me resides;
My orthodox to him is nuts;
Unorthodox to me is plus.

At base, perception shifts the odds,
So feed his spies with odds and sods
To paint a picture of a mess
In my apparent formlessness.

My spies (however that is done)
Pick up formations they’ve begun,
In light of which I then can act –
His mystic view succumbs to fact.

His dispositions (made or seen)
Help us keep focus while unseen,
So we’re not tricked into some form
Complying with some given norm.

If they’re contained while we are free,
We concentrate ’gainst what we see,
While they divide, spread out their ranks;
Then we punch through with guns and tanks.

That’s like four – twelve – then seven-two
Christ used to mentor out of view;
They worked in pairs, divided up,
But down-lines were for him enough.

Quite freely he moved in and out,
Not really seen; to them no doubt
He was like cousin John – a head
Which stops the rest when He is dead.

So his “unorthodox” looked straight;
His orthodox gave him a gate
Into the world of cultures far
From home, once door was set ajar.

No way to stop dispersion’s plan
As it fans out across the land –
First mentor; mentor how to do
That mentoring – such spread is new.

Thanks Lord for this.
