“Yesterday” [#4/6 Stupefying Factors - Reflections On Book - Charles L Mee Jr. Playing God ] (Matthew 9:16-17; John 2:1-11; Jeremiah 15:19-21;)

“How things are done” – we join a film in play,
Take up our roles, live out folks’ yesterdays,
As they themselves play out their petty pace –
Such fools we are – I am, in any case.

Makes sense, I guess, as I stand back and look –
School system preps to adulthood through books;
So we take up such foolish roles, play out
Our roles today, pontificate – no doubt.

The others act this way – of course we see –
But not so us, that simply cannot be!
But then again, six decades down the road,
I cringe at times when I spoke out as told.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies –
Locked to the past, rejecting Jubilee;
But Kingdom-layer – in that we find some space
To be, in Christ, freed up in any case.

How to proceed – new wine lest wineskins burst?
Hold the new wine; let best of old go first;
Then when they see their need for good new wine,
They’ll turn to you, and all will work out fine.

Thanks Lord for this.
