“Not Knowing” [#1 of 6 – Stupefying Factors - Reflections On Book - Charles L Mee Jr. Playing God ] (I Cor.12:8b;Matt.16:13-26)

First in a set of several ways, he wrote
Of Leo – “Pope”, “The Great”, who, on his toes
That day walked out – Attila fearsome was,
But carried he “A word”, so story goes –

“Of knowledge” Leo tossed into the mix,
So Huns would turn away, leave Rome in peace –
“Now save your skins from plague which tears through Rome –
You don’t need that, friend – you, I thus release”.

So Huns turned back (Aleric had been killed
In sacking Rome – died of the plague he caught
At Rome, Attila knew) – “Hey guys, let’s stop –
Go someplace else, no need our skin to rot”.

“What we don’t know, can’t hurt us” some will say;
But that’s not true – so Leo’s word released
The enemy to live his life his way –
Released in heaven, thus Romans had their peace.

Thanks Lord for this.
