"The Tape - Keep Silent #2 " [Photographic Communication ] [Community Contribution Set Of Poems]

And then at end of day I heard,
“Don’t tape guest speaker’s spoken word”;
I’m not sure why – some fear in him?
“Keep silent lest some war begin?”

In end it was political –
He danced upon my windowsill;
Said, “Open window, let me in;
Let’s toss opponent’s overt sin”.

Compared with Hitler’s squelching ways
Said, “Skulk around, it better pays
Than overt challenge to their walk
(Then forced consensus on his flock).

It brought to mind bro Washington,
Who’d seen folks lynched at setting sun
For being “Black and uppity”;
Spoke words I heard, inspiring me –

“I chose to never let someone
Drag me so low by what they’ve done,
That I start hating him or her;
To God such feelings I refer”.

That man was one who brought to life
Our peanut butter – spread with knife,
Each day with jelly, sweet indeed!
But words he spoke met deeper need.

Thanks Lord for this.
