"Atmospheric Haze "[Photographic Communication #11] [Photo Index # 4: 1 [Community Contribution Set Of Poems]

In writing novels now I need less words
Then Dickens in his time, because, I’ve heard,
I say “Brazil” and most have seen it shown
On PBS – to all, in mind, it’s known.

So pictures “stick”, such mood and atmosphere
Still lingers now, evoking calm or fear;
The color’s hue gets part of credit here,
And haze of hills tells us which part is near.

We lived for years on Severn River’s banks –
Each day it’s mood would shift and we’d give thanks
For picture-window drawing in the view –
Today those photos still my hope renews.

Now, “black and white” for mood goes off the charts –
One step removed from real, it touches hearts;
Deep shadowed tome or airy summer scene
Evoke the atmosphere where we have been.

Now Photoshop can tweak such moodiness;
Or shift exposure – anger, joy, or bliss
Are felt as we draw out the atmosphere
In photo shoots – when mood is made quite clear.

Thanks Lord for this.
