The pace of change is fast today
In Western world – some people say
It’s much too fast for human folk
To grow, mature, take time for jokes.“If you’re not on life’s cutting edge,
If you don’t live on danger’s ledge,
You’ll not do well, get to the top
Of hills you climb; the ball you’ll drop.”So says the Western world today;
Relax, slow down, there is a way
To work at slower pace within
A world gone mad – today begin –To stop and really look around;
Take twice as long, until you’ve found
The picture in your inner eye –
In quietness success can lie.There is a use for faster pace
Without constraint of human race –
Just stop and watch the world whirl by,
Kaleidoscope beneath the sky.The surfer’s swells? storms far away;
The surface chop? winds for today;
Direction take from deeper swells –
Catch surface winds and you’ll do well.Select the tempo you prefer –
Some work’s too fast? Time to refer;
Match task and context where you are,
With inner tempo – you’ll go far.Thanks Lord for this.
