“Farewell – Hello” [Start Of The Community Contribution Set Of Poems]

It started with a “Job well done” at end of ministry –
She’d stated on behalf of us the impact all could see
They’d had on us – said even kid had in his tender years,
Coughed up some cash to operate, perhaps avoid some tears.

That had not helped in keeping them, not full-time anyway –
Not even part-time – off they went – “O Lord, please show a way
That we can raise our kids in You, that they might come to You,
And live their lives as God-ly men, and live from Kingdom’s view.”

You answered (Lord, to me it seems), through photo-ministry –
“Pray tell me, which is best to buy – a camera rig like thee?”
“Go iPhone for the bulk of it, they’re awesome as can be,
Though big ones do affirm the folks I found at CBC.

“I’ll let you use my back-up rig once kids come home for break;
I’ll bring it to our church that week – do it for Jesus’ sake;
For if you do not like such tools, you’ll save some cash to boot;
They’re all about the same – you can test out this new pursuit.”

She intro’d me to hubby then – “He’s awesome with his picks”;
“Well, hey then, you discuss all this, and we’ll get back to it –
If you still think you’d like to try it out, just say the word;”
Then off I went, returned again, “Oh yes!” response I heard.

So there we are, I showed you how to turn on “BRS”;
Just like computers in our day, it all begins with this –
“If you can’t turn it on it is a piece of fancy glass,
So here’s the “Big Red Switch” my friend, go forth, augment your task”.

“Augment my task?” I saw you ask as you read business card;
“Augmented Text” is what I do – join in, it isn’t hard –
Ask Jesus, ‘What’s Your task for me, what would You have me do?
And should I then augment that task with pictures taken too?”

I write – so I augment my text with photos matching up
God’s word through me to other folks like you – sometimes it’s tough
To get the photograph I want – “I need a winter pix,
But it’s still mid-July – I’ll wait to catch the best for this”.

So use this tool for thirty days – check back before you leave
On holidays – we’ll see how you make out – see if it frees
You up in tasks He’s given to you, or if it’s ball and chain;
You’ll know quite quickly if it’s great, or just a royal pain.

And me? I’ll pray for you each day and post results to you;
Reflect in Him – that camera and lens might help your view;
My prayer is that your prayer that day, “That all of us mature
In you, O Lord, in this wee Kirk,” might start this day, for sure.

God bless you as you lift this day Christ’s camera and lens;
God bless the vision given to you by Him, and may He send
Rich blessings to your kith and kin as pictures flow, all learn
The beauties of His world each day – held up that we not spurn –

His wondrous world which we walk by unseeing, caring less;
Created by His gracious hand, ’fore which we must confess,
We have not tended quite as well as we could do for Him –
But with this camera and lens, perhaps we might begin.

Thanks Lord for this.
