“The Call To Body Life”

“A story can’t be told until a story has an ending;
This story can’t be told because we don’t have the final view.”
This story is not finished, for the trail is still a-winding;
But You have pulled the plug, and taken us to be with You.

That says to me the saying is still good for us as writers;
It says to me it’s nonsense to those folks with larger view;
For You know how the story ends before it has beginning,
Like authors of a story writing fiction that is new.

I asked You for an insight here to stand in for the ending;
You said to do the cheat-sheets for four-twelve and seven-two;
“You’ve done the first two sections, Stu, so wrap up now it’s ending,
It is not graduation – it’s Baptism’s here for you.”

Baptism? What’s Your meaning, Lord, I have no comprehension;
“Baptism is the union of the body parts in Me;
That ‘newbie dedication’ which both groups now call “Baptism”,
Is not about the body parts which all can be in Me.

“Now you can see the Kingdom as place to do your growing,
Relations with the others now in Me can be as one;
You yahoos, here as “settlers”, have all left your former cultures,
Third-culture’s also mixing – though a while ’till it is done.

“It really doesn’t matter that this story’s almost over,
Just pick up the “Discipling” task as I instructed you;
A meeting of the people here from every tribe and nation,
Takes place up on the Kingdom-layer – a place with better view.”

O Lord, that is so awesome – and the challenge is breathtaking –
To leave there on the earth their view of single-minded life,
And join here in Your body-life – each part in You most vital,
Which brings new ways of living, freed in this from Babel strife.

Thanks Lord for this.
