“Wait”

“I laid it down – I took it up again;
I’ve power for that – despite the joy or pain;
On Kingdom-layer, you have them both as well,
So lay it down, and future will go well.

“Not just one time, but daily lay it down;
Not little things, but life itself – surround
Yourself with life – My part-ing gift to you –
Engage in life – now you have larger view.

“All can’t get done – but any-thing it seems,
So make your choice – life’s larger than it seems;
All will be well; relax, I’m here for you;
Through all events, I’ll heavy lifting do.

“Stu, just stand back, the detail doesn’t aid
Direction now – do plans which I have laid
For you, long years before you started out
Your life in Me – that’s what life’s all about.”

Lord, just this week, it felt like “sixty-six”,
When I approached, and wanted guidance – mixed
In with confusion, lack of background then;
I ponder now – would I do that again?

“Stu, we have walked these many miles to date,
Through thick and thin – you did not hesitate;
I know your heart, frustrations, hopes deferred –
Let all this go – rise up, your prayer is heard.”

My prayer, O Lord? I have so many now –
For self and wife, the kids – I can’t see how
It all gets done – in all eternity –
That’s just a part – the part which touches me.

I see those tools – far better than I had;
I could press on – “It wouldn’t be so bad”;
I know it’s not – in You it all is fine –
Worth more than finest tool-set that is mine.

So, where to go, O Lord, on Kingdom-layer?
Which part pick up, as newbie Kingdom-player?
I know it’s “any”, just not “every” thing;
And time is short – assignment’s everything.

“You still don’t see it, Stu – your work is best
When you’ve a place, and boss to help, with zest;
Fifth business, yes, within a structured frame
That’s loose enough to let you play your game.

“I never saw you working all alone;
You’re built for team, not working from your home;
You made it work, not seeing larger frame;
So Stu, engage, step forward in My name.

“You work for Me, I’ll give you lots to do
On Kingdom-layer – that freedom’s meant for you;
They’ll be okay – they’ve got the piece they need –
They are the plot, you’re Johnny Appleseed.”

Okay Lord, thanks.
