"New Hire"
As I look round about to me,
Bewildered’s how I feel;
The markers are quite different,
Though at Your feet I kneel –To start out every morning
And center up again,
It’s not that all is settled,
Like inner-feelings tamed.Lord thank You for this portion
Of journey on my way;
For promise of each morrow,
As we begin each day.I’m like the new employee,
The ropes are new to me;
Just like a starting sailor
On sailing ship at seaLord, help me to be patient,
To do my task each day;
Not worry ’bout tomorrow,
Or why at port we stay.Too soon we will pull anchor,
Feel vessel puff her sails,
And we’ll be on adventure
Midst calm, fair days, and gales.For such is life of sailors
When we pull out of port
To life of great adventure,
Then of those days report.Be with us every morning,
Whatever now befall;
For on this Kingdom-layer
Is greatest life of all.Thanks Lord for this.
